The Considered
As a CEO, you try to develop and inspire teams, you obviously undertake a significant amount of training, and you go through a number of different programs around awareness. Some of them are about ticking the box, some of them are worthwhile, and then there is the absolutely exceptional one, The Opt-In – which I describe as life changing.
As a leader, I had historically never differentiated a person based on someone’s background, traits, where they come from, or how they look. And that was the most important lesson that I learned from the incredible team at The Opt-In, was learning, being self-aware and acknowledging that actually everyone is different.
The Opt-In team has such empathy, understanding, patience – traits that exemplify visionary leadership. They provided coaching, strategy and a sense of community. I would recommend them to any leader who is looking to lead and engage intersectional teams.

The Opt-In made it easy for my team to open up and get real with one another. Their passionate, kind, and open-minded energy allowed space for people to share honestly with one another and connect as humans first.

CHOP Foundation
The Opt-In engages not only our minds, but our sense of being, our whole sense of self. They touch not only minds, but hearts, and as “Neutral” as that may sound, it’s my highest compliment. Access to my heart center, my innermost fears on my own learning, and micro-aggressions means unparalleled trust, humility, and the need to error. In error, I grow, and my heart feels the fuller for it.

We don’t know what’s in front of us, we’re learning about ourselves, the environment around us and how we’re going to move forward. It’s not only us, it’s our clients, it’s our competitors, it’s everyone, the world is really changing. I feel very fortunate having a group like The Opt-In with us, I feel like that takes away all of my worries.
Matt McNally
Former CEO
Outcome Health
As a leader, you often reflect on those pivotal moments in your career…. for me it’s been responding to racism and white supremacy in the workplace. Until recent events, senior leaders often overlooked these topics, often left for underrepresented colleagues to “deal with.”
Partnering with The Opt-In team has helped the team at Outcome Health and me not only acknowledge dominant culture and racial inequality in the workforce, but how to address it head-on. They have helped create a catalyst for change and a forum for our employees to feel more open to sharing their views.
Lauren Villanueva
Assistant Vice President, Alumni Relations
Drexel University
Our attendees felt like they were truly in conversation with The Opt-In. Although they incorporate research/data at various points of the presentation, what really stood out to everyone was the humanity that they brought to the topic and the openness with which they shared their personal stories and views. It created a safe space for others to do the same. I think this is important as doing the work of anti-racism requires all participants to be in an open and courageous dialogue together, without defensiveness or a closed mind.
Karla Trotman
Board Member, Drexel University
President & CEO, Electro Soft
For the first time since joining this Board I finally felt that I had the opportunity to know and understand my fellow Board members. It was if The Opt-In gave everyone permission to remove their mask and bring their authentic self to the table. In that moment, the entire Board was broken open and we were prepared to insert humanness into the work with which we were charged.
Miriam Stewart
Director of Physician Wellbeing
Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
The Opt-In were incredibly thoughtful in framing their session to meet the needs of our organization. Aurora and Kelly’s openness and vulnerability created a sense of permission and connection around the topic of anti-racism which is sensitive for many. Even in the virtual format, the strength of their connection to each other and the audience created a safe space for conversation, which was the goal of the session.

Administrative Director Women’s Health
Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health
The group is a dynamic team of smart, driven women focused on improving the health and wellbeing of all people. With lengthy and impressive corporate experience individually, their collective wisdom, intuition, and grit helped me to establish innovative, people-centric strategies to engage and support women in their transition to motherhood and beyond. I am ever grateful for their partnership and ability to deliver with speed, agility, and tact, despite various pressures. The product of our work together continues to be my “north star” – guiding me in pursuit of the best experiences and health outcomes for all women.

I know this work is long term work. There are no short cuts to getting to solutions on these issues. I think it is important to expand our thinking on topics like this. To the best of our abilities not only look at our understanding of it from a national vantage point. I think working to gain a global perspective is a valuable part of the evolution of this learning.

Chief Relationship Officer
Parlay House
The Opt-In are truly doing the work and I am so grateful for their recent talk with the Parlay House community. They are masterful when it comes to facilitating meaningful conversations about race and privilege in a way that dissolves discomfort and defensiveness. They create ripples of impact by showing up with nurturing, direct, authentic, and even humorous energy in all they do.
